This is a mood board that shows many different clothing company’s logos. I have realised that all of these companies have used very bold and clear typefaces for there logos. I have also noticed that most of these logos possess very simple designs, for example, some of these company names have been placed inside simple circle shapes or have been placed over small sections of textured backgrounds. while some have interesting typefaces or over exaggerated features.
This is a mood board that shows various t-shirt designs that I felt were creative and unique.
This is a jacket that possesses a hand made design on its back. The designer of this jacket had designed the main focal point being the black and white sections of the rose that has been framed within a triangle shape. This main focal point effectively demands the attention of the viewer through the strong contrast in colour that is created through the black and white colour of the flowers and the bright red and green colour of the sections of the roses that are on the outside of the triangular shape. the dark, thick outline of the triangular shape helps draw the eye to the centre of the jacket. Once my eye has studied the centre of this image, I then look at the over the edge of this design which is the coloured part of the roses. I believe that this jacket design is successful due to its level of creativity and hand-painted design that creates a more personal touch. I also think that these jackets design resembles the stylings of fashionable tattoo designs a style choice which makes this design look very modern.I believe that this t-shirt captures the attention of the viewer through its highly contrasting colour scheme and imaginative design that shows an astronaut using a vacuum to suck up the stars in space. I suspect that the designer has done this to illustrate the way that space is described to be a vacuum. this design is also gender-neutral there for may attract the attention of a wider audience.I believe that this t-shirt is effective as it possesses a creative and fun design that features an image of pack pan eating different sized planets. I think that this design if effective as it uses a very well known video game character that has also been designed to feature as the main focal point of this t-shirt, capturing the attention of its audience through its bright orange colour than contrasts well against the black background.believe that the use of this extremely well-known character appeals to a wider audience and may make other happy around the owner of the shirt.This t-shirt design is fun and creative this design features an image of the very famous painting called the scream that was made by the very well-known artist Edvard munch. That has instead been designed featuring the gingerbread man as the screaming character on the bridge. this design also features another very well-known character in the background of this image of which is the children’s puppet, the cookie monster. I believe that the artist of this design has used these well-known characters and paintings to appeal o the common interests within society while also attempting to create a comical spin on this very well known painting that is a well-known symbol of anxiety and fear. That the designer of this image still illustrates through the chemistry between the cookie monster and the gingerbread man.I believe that this t-shirt design is successful, I have this opinion as I think that this design is colourful and effectively demands the attention of its viewer through its vivid colour scheme, of which also contrasts extremely well against the white colour of the top it’s self. I also think that the concept f this design is very imaginative, fun and is a very feminine design of which appeals to women. To add to this, I think that the fact that this design has been made by hand, causes this design to look more personal. I will look to re-create some of these qualities while creating my final t-shirt design.The first thing I notice about this design is the main focal point of which the eyes of the woman in this design. I suspect that the artist of this jacket has made the eyes of this image the main focal point due to the fact that the eyes are the natural main focal point of the face. The second thing I notice about this jackets design is the contrast in colour that presents its viewer with an image of a woman that has been painted in black and white, while the flowers protruding from this woman’s face and the stripes in the background have been painted using soft colours. I believe that the artist has done this in order to cause the viewer to study this image in two sections.This is an image of the super dry logo. this logo has been designed possessing a very bold san-serif typeface. I believe that this logo has been given this san serif typeface in order to allow viewers to retrieve the texts information in the shortest amount of time, without distraction from unnecessary artistic qualities. I also think that this text has been given a bold look to allow this simplistic text to become as attention-grabbing as possible without having to use bright colours. Another thing I notice about this logo design is its simplistic colour scheme of black and white of which I think has been given to this logo in order to create a strong contrast I colour that enhances the visibility of this logo. The designer of this logo has also chosen to place the name of this brand written in Japanese letters, a style choice I suspect has been included in order to express the fact that super dry is a company that originated in Japan.This is the Adidas logo. The main focal point of this logo is the three stripes that cant be seen extending diagonally side by side to resemble a triangular shape. I believe that the designer of this logo has done this due to the fact that Adidas clothing is very well known for its products possessing these three striped patterns. I have also noticed the way in which these stripes slightly extend higher as these stripes travel upwards In this diagonal direction. I think this has been done to illustrate progress that people make while undergoing fitness regimes. This also illustrates the fact Adidas is a sportswear company. Another characteristic I have noticed about this logo is its use of a san serif typeface of which I think has been given to this logo to insure that viewers retrieve the information as quickly as possible without any distraction from overextended or artistic serifs. This typeface is also bold and lowercase. I think that this text has been given this heavyweight in order to enhance its visibility, while the lowercase letters creates a non-threatening and kind look.Gaps logo has used a very elongates serif typeface. I believe that this company has chosen to use a serif typeface as it creates a more formal look that expresses a sense of professionalism, while its elongated look allows this thin text to create a bigger impact on its viewer. I have also noticed that this logo’s typeface possesses a very large spacing in between its letters of which I suspect have been used in order to allow this very short name to take up a wider space and cause this name to be more legible from a larger distance while also creating a more memorable impression. This logo has also been created using a very contrasting colour scheme of black and white which stands out well to its viewer.The first thing I notice about the vans logo is its bold rectangular edged typeface , of which creates a very strong look that I believe suggests that this brands products are endurable. I also believe that this thick white typeface creates a bigger impact on the viewer. another main feature of this logo is its overextension of the letter v that can be seen travelling over the top of the letters of this logo’s name. I suspect that this has been done to express the fact that vans is a skateboard, clothing company.The first thing I notice about this logo is its simplistic and strong contrasting black and white colour scheme. I suspect that the artist of this logo has done this to ensure that the viewer does not get distracted by bright colours. Another feature that I have noticed is the slight elongated style of the typeface used I think this may have been done to allow the logo to pit in a smaller space, resulting in this slightly condensed design. this logo also possesses a silhouette of a bird of which may have been used to illustrate the sense of freedom some people experience while shopping for clothes that fit their personal style. At the very bottom of this log is tells the viewer that Hollister originated in California through the use of its name. The typeface used is a thick serif text that looks professional while the boldness of the text allows the typeface to stand out while its small size ensures that name of this clothing brand captures the attention of the viewer first.I believe that the Topshop logo is successful firstly due to the large spacing in between the letters that ensure that people are able to read the text from a somewhat lengthy distance without having to use very large letters. This logo also uses a san serif type of which I suspect has been used in order to allow the viewer to retrieve the most amount of information in the shortest amount of time.
This is a mood board showing imagery of art that I felt were interesting and hoped that they might act as a source of inspiration.after researching some interesting imagery I decided to look for some more relevant and modern tattoo designs that I felt were interesting. I intend to design my image that will feature on my t-shirt mockup taking inspiration from. I have noticed that these pieces often use geometric shapes, I will look to replicate this in my dealings.
This is an image of my first attempts of creating a logo for the elusive clothing company. for this logo, I have chosen to create it using a diamond-like design as I felt that this was in keeping with the way that alternative,tattoo-like art often use geometric shapes in their designs. even though I believe that this diamond-like design look expresses that this company sells somewhat alternative clothing I do think that this shape that I have used may cause the viewer to miss understand the name of this company. I will look to create a simpler design that is clear.Here I have experimented with using the very large letter E’s that I have placed the rest of the name of this company while others have the remaining letters of the words travelling through the outer space belonging to these large letters E’s. I am pleased with these outcomes and believe them to be interesting, however, I do feel that these logos are not yet at a professional standard.
While creating these logo designs, I sent out to create more professional looks to these logos. I feel I have achieved this through further simplifying these logos and decreasing the size of the letter e’s belonging to these designs of which I feel allows the viewer to read the name of these logos better. I have also reframed from using harsh backgrounds.I think that the most successful design belonging on this page is the logo in the centre line of this page, slightly on the left-hand side. I will look to further develop this logo and I intend to use this logo as my final design.
This is an image of a design that I had created while thinking about possible designs to feature on my t-shirt mock-up. I believe that this design possesses some very effective qualities such as a high contrasting colour scheme and a simplistic look. This design also resembles the effective designs that I had earlier found while researching effective and alternative art pieces. however, I do feel that this design is not yet good enough to be used for my t-shirt mock-up so I will look to create a better image to feature on my t-shirt mock-up.
This is an image of my final design. for this design I have created an image of a woman who appears to be thinking that also has roses, tentacles and a planet that can be seen extending from out the top section of the head. I have done this as I felt that these somewhat odd objects coming from out of the top of the head of this character illustrated the imagination that takes place in a person’s mind while sleeping. I also felt that by creating a piece of art with these imaginative qualities expresses the name elusive belonging to this clothing brand, as this word is used to describe a dream state in which a person becomes aware that they are sleeping and in some cases can control the storyline of the dream. While its other meaning describes something that is difficult to catch or contain such as the human imagination. To add to this I have designed this image possessing tentacles and roses escaping the head of this image to express that most often when people dream they will either experience a nightmare or a sweet dream while the planet has been added to suggests that having a dream can be an adventure just as we venture into space with curiosity. I have also added the triangular shape that can be seen framing the body of the woman in my image to add more contrast through the dark black fill while also mimicking the use of geometric shapes that I had seen earlier while researching alternative, tattoo-like designs.
Here I have slightly edited my final design by transforming the solid black colour that I have earlier given to my triangle shape and have instead given it a black outline as I felt that this allowed the viewer to better focus their attention of the objects placed in the head of my design. I have also added collarbones to this image in order to create a more detailed look.This is an image of my final t-shirt mock-up I have placed the design of this t-shirt in the centre of the vest area as I felt that this was the natural focal point of the human torso while also effectively avoid what fashion designers call belly print which research shows is un-flattering and unprofessional.
