I have chosen to create a package for this rubber ball. in order to start this process, i had measured the circumference of this ball so i could design a box that would comfortable and securely fit this ball.after having measured this rubber ball i began designing my box that would incase this toy.
after cutting my net for my packaging out i had realised that the tabs that i have made to glue this box together were rather small. After having assembled my net i placed my rubber ball inside this box and found that this box was slightly too large and the ball inside caused the outer faces of my box to bow outwards that was due to the small tabs that resulted in an unsteady, flimsy structure. i also feel that my folding technique was not sharp enough and will look to improve on this.after having a bad result in my first attempt of making packaging for my orange rubber ball i decided to re-measure my ball with more precision. i had also designed larger tabs on my net in order to design a stronger structure. After cutting the net of my packaging out i realised i had created a more professional looking net. i feel that my cutting technique was also very neat and i was pleased with this outcome.one my net was cit out perfectly i then began to fold my net, doing so by scoring the lines of my folds with a scalpel.after fully assembling my net i then placed my rubber ball into my packaging. this revealed that my box was the right size and had a stronger structure than the previous box i had made. i believe this was a result of designing this net with larger tabs.the box on the right is my second packaging that has the ball inside and is closed while the box on the left is my first packaging attempt. this image reveals the slight difference in size and structure security. this can be seen in the slightly larger size of my first box that also has walls that bend outwards and very small tabs. while my second box has incased the rubber ball seamlessly, possess flat faces and has a fully closed lid.
Here i have decorated my net for my box with space-themed images. i will later print this off and create folds along the lines of the net that i have created in order to create my finished cube.here are a few images of the final packaging i have designed for my rubber ball. I began assembling my net by first cutting it away from the sheet of paper after this was done i then folded the net and glued the tabs together to form my packaging. i am very pleased with the finished result as i believe that my folding technique has proven to be effective there are no scratch marks of imperfections.here is an image of many different chocolate bar boxes which i felt were successful while researching these chocolate bar wrappers i realised that the packages that caught my eye were packets that had been designed having original illustrations on the front or high contrasting colour schemes i had also noticed that most of the typefaces used presenting the name of the chocolate bar resembled the visual aspects of the chocolate bars mimicking the colour, texture and in some cases shape. I will look to recreate these characteristics in my packaging designs.
After having searched a wide variety of chocolate bar packages that have all been designed targeting different audiences. i have chosen to search chocolate bars that aim to appeal to teenagers that are decorative and have interesting chocolate bars inside some having marshmallows melted in and other exciting additions. I am really fond of the packages that show various bright colours and fun images as i feel that these characteristics are very attention-grabbing and well suggest to the target audience that the chocolate in the wrappers are very different and fun and i will look to express the characteristics of my chocolate bar in this fun way. This is an image of the chocolate bar that i have chosen to model my chocolate bar package on. i will do this by first measuring this bar and replicating its measurements while creating my own template on template maker. This is my rough design which i intend to create in on my chocolate bar wrapper template. In this design, i have drawn aliens with long necks and many space ships in the background. and have chosen to call my chocolate bar super dark as i felt this name well informs my viewer that this a dark chocolate bar.
I believe that my chocolate bar package is successful because i feel that i have well expressed the fact that i have designed this wrapper to advertise a dark chocolate bar. Doing so through the name of my chocolate bar that i have chosen to call super dark. I have also done this i through my spaced themed imagery which i have incorporated to express the dark colour of the chocolate bar in an artistic way. Here i have added a bar code and a nutritional facts label on to my design. while doing this i ran into a few difficulties while trying to place these images in an appropriate place. this was due to the fact that a large part of the back of this chocolate bar wrapper is hidden by the folding flap off this package, therefore, i had to place both the bar code and the nutrition label ver close together as this was the only section of this chocolate bar package that had the least amount of design and allowed the most visibility. After i had folded my package i then glued the folds down resulting in the finished look. I was not pleased with this outcome due to the fact that the folds did not come out as clean and straight as i had hoped and a had a few sections that did not match up correctly due to improper measuring. Another reason i was not happy with this outcomes is due to the improper way that i have scored this package as it has left a very large scrage on the side of this package, an imperfection i suspect was a result of using a blunt scalpel. After having properly assembled my chocolate bar package i placed it beside the original chocolate bar only to discover that the chocolate bar package that i had made was both too long and slightly to thin. Characteristics i believe to be the result of improper measuring and possible accidental resizing of my chocolate bar template while i was designing the cover of the package.
Due to my earlier package being an unorthodox shape i re-measured my chocolate bar and got the correct measurements of 19.3in length, 8.9 in width and was 0.8cm in hight. After having got these measurements i then redesigned my packet. while designing this second chocolate bar packet i replaced my bar code as i felt that having it taking place in the top left corner allowed for the most visibility and resulted in a more professional looking outcome as the bar code and the nutritional value have not been placed to close together.
After i had evaluated the mistakes of my previous chocolate bar attempt i then re-measured my chocolate bar with extra care ensuring to get the right measurements for my final package. once i was sure i had the right measurements i then began to re-create my design making sure to lock my template in place in illustrator.i believe that the end result of my package to be successful due to the fact that the folds i have crated are sharp and clean and also because the design was left with no scrape marks caused by improper scoring as this time i had changed the blunt head of my scaple with a new sharp one which resulted in the very sharp and clean folds. After i had assembled my chocolate bar package i then placed my bar beside my original chocolate bar package. which revealed that the new chocolate bar packaging was the correct measurements in both width.this is a mood board of many different successful candy packages that are very well known. while researching these sweets i found that many of the more attention-grabbing packets have been designs having bright colours that mimic the colour of the cand inside while also including imagery of the candy it’s self. while the name on the packaging mimics the shapes of the sweets while also illustrating many other characteristics if the sweets. For this mood board, i have researched sweets that have been targeted to young adults. i have noticed that packaging for this audience include a lot of stronger darker colours as opposed to sweets targeted to younger audiences that use lighter brighter colours and younger imagery such as rainbows and childlike cartoon characters while these sweets contain a lot of the colour black and dark reds and can often be advertised as if it were challenging its target audience questioning if the buyer can tolerate its extreme taste. this advertising technique can be seen occurring through the use of imagery that shows pictures of flames distorted mature faces and strong contrasting colours. This image is a rough sketch of what i intend my packaging for my spicey sweets to look like.
For my sweet packaging, i have chosen a cone template that i have designed in the form of a volcano. and have called my candy magma drops .i have chosen this imagery and name in order to try to suggest to my teenage audience that this is a hot candy and should be eaten with caution. and could be considered to be a challenge to eat.for this sweet packet task, i have chosen sweet heat skittles that are a spicey version of skittles. having chosen this packet of sweets i have chosen to aim my product to young teens due to recent research revealing that young teenagers are well known to seek out interesting and unique sweets that could be considered to be a challenge due to them possessing extream tastes a fact that can be seen taking place in other very commonly known sweets such as harry potter jelly beans and sweets like toxic waste, these challenging sweets are believe to be appealing to young teens as they are different to the old sweets they grew up eating and posses tastes that are considered to be too strong for children and perhaps extream for adults to enjoy. Here i have researched sweets that posses very extream flavours varying from spicy to sour. this research has revealed that these packages use a lot of very bold and contrasting colours and i have noticed that the colour red is used very frequently in these packets a characteristic i believe is due to the well-known fact that the colour red is well known to suggest danger, heat and urgency . and i believe that it is because of this that cause these wrappers to suggest to the audience of these sweets that these sweets should be considered to be a challenge to eat. These sweets also possess very strong graphics having very large typefaces that are very bold in colour and large in size. these sweets packets also have imagery that suggests to the viewer the type of extream flavour of the sweets inside doing so through the use of images of flames explaining that the sweets are hot in some way, faces that are sticking out green tongs expressing that the sweets are sour or the use of the colour green that is commonly used n sour-sweet packets a fact i suspect is due to the fact that this colour is commonly found in apples a fruit that is very sour while Eaton in its green stage while going through the ripening prosses. This is an image of the various unique packages that i have come across while researching different styles of sweet boxes. while doing this i discovered that most challenging sweets are given fun and interactive packaging this can be seen taking place in the jelly bean sweet packet that I have placed at the top left corner of this picture, this has been designed taking the shape of a game that has a spinning arrow in the centre which chosen which extream flavour that the consumer is to eat. which has effectively manifested the daring nature of these unique sweets. this style of packaging can be seen taking place in the candy roulette chocolate box that i have placed just underneath the burn bliss candy box in the right-hand corner of this image.
while thinking of the spicey content of my chosen sweet packet i had came to a conclusion to incorporate the idea of hades from the very well known Disney film Hercules doing so due to the fact that hades is very well known to have to sides to him one being the somewhat content and happy side of this character which is represented in the blue colour of his flames . while the other livid side of hades possesses a very angry face and becomes engulfed in bright red and yellow flames. and i felt that this fact well illustrated the extream change in the very well known flavours of skittles and the new spicey flavour of the new limited edition skittles. This is an image of a roughly drawn example of the design i intend on placing on my sweet packet that will hold 200g or sweets. for this rough sketch, i have chosen to display my imagery on a cone as i felt that this shape would allow me to place imagery around the entire outside of my package and allow for more imagery to be seen at once. an example of this can be seen in the ways that this cone has four main images that being the blue version of hades placed on the left-hand side of this cone while the opposing side shows the angry red version of hades. while if turned to the correct angles one half if both of these versions of hades can be seen occurring side by side exaggerating the strong contrast in colour and emotion i have created through my design. i believe that by doing this will allow my target audience to grasp the concept of this sweet packet from all angles potentially increasing the likelihood of selling this product as having this product at one correct angle will not be nessarary for making a sale. i also intend on dividing my cone package in two sections placing skittles tropical flavoured sweets in one half that posses blue and lightly coloured skittles in one half while the spicy skittle flavour will be placed in the angry version of hades section.
This is an image of the net design that will belong to my sweet packet. i intend of placing both versions of hades side by side while an image of the underworld wurl pool that meg finds her self being trapped in this particular movie as this is an image from one of the last seans of the film and it is because of this that i believe that this image would be well received by my audience as this scene is iconic due to the fact that Hercules earns his right to become a god achieving his goal throughout the film. as well as this i have used this image as it fits the circle shape well as the marking in the pool travle inwards in a circular motion .this is a rough drawing of the structure and features of hades face i intend on scanning this image in and tracing it on illustrator while reshaping his face to fit my desired style. while doing this i will ensure to capture his pain characteristics such as his hair, teeth, pointed features and long chin.
After some consideration, i have chosen to present my package in this trapezoid shape to use as my sweet packet. i have done this as i felt that this shape looks more appealing while also allowing more space for sweets. as well as this i felt that having a shape with more faces would provide or more surface area for images and cause my imagery to look less compacted making my pictures look clearer and more professional. for this packet, i have decorated this 3d shape in imagery that i believe explained my concept it a more simple way using the greek symbol for hades that i have one in red and one in blue that i have placed at opposite sides of this package. representing hades two sides well. I have also included this symbol on both of the thinner sides in black. as well as this i have expressed the greek content of this symbol through the use of a typical greek pattern to try and translate the fact that my design is based on greek mythology. to add to this i have finished my design by placing an image of the skull that hades wears on the side of this robe at the bottom of my trapezoid. This is an image of the end result of this design that i had made earlier that i cut from its background using a Stanley knife and a metal ruler for accuracy, folded using the Stanley knife to score with in order to create very sharp and clean folds. after i had folded my net I then glued the flaps in place that resulted in this finished look. i believe this package to be unsuccessful due to the fact that the flaps that i glued down did not end up staying in place due to a lack of glue. and also because of the large scrapes that i have made on the bottom of my page, an imperfection i think was due to improper scoring. i will look to improve on these steps while assembling future packages. even tho this packet had many falts it still held the sweets well without any difficulty. This is my second sweet packet design. i have designed this sweet packet having the name of my sweet on three of its faces while using the simple greek pattern that i had earlier used. i believe that this design is simpler and gets the most amount of information across in the less amount of time doing so through the help of my simple black and white colour scheme does not detract attention away from the name of the sweet written on these faces or the obvious greek pattern i have used throughout this design.
Here is the net of my design that i have made including dividers. i cut this design from its background using a Stanley knife and a metal ruler. Here are a few pictures of the finished result of my divided version of my design. i believe that this package is successful as it has very clean and sharp corners created through the use of careful scoring using the Stanley knife and ruler and by using the correct amount of glue. aswell as this the divider i placed across the centre of this packet worked well in dividing the different flavours of the tropical skittles and the spicey skittles
This is my version of the calm, blue side of hades personality. I have designed this image intentionally exaggerating hades main facial features doing so by elongating and narrowing his already long chin while including a lot more teeth than i have also drawn to look very sharp. i have also widened his eyes into a rugby ball shape and given him very bright yellow eyes as opposed to the original character having very round, dark yellow eyes. To add to this i have also exaggerated the waves of hades hair – fire turning them into full-bodied curls and waves that can be seen folding into each other in a constant flow like pattern resembling an icecream an effect i have designed in order to express the fact that this image is advertising a product with a high sugar content. that is shared with both candy and icecream. i believe that this image is effective as it is both fun and colourfull characteristics i believe will demand the attention of my audience while my package is placed on a shelf . and i also think that my imagery attracts the right audience that being teenagers-young adults due to the slightly scary features that i have created as this might scare off small children without being to frighting and capturing the eye of teenagers looking for something new. This is my illustration of the angry side of hades from the Hercules film. for this design i have used a lot of the colour red as this colour is used dominantly in the original design of this character. i have contrasted these red colours using very bright yellows and oranges in the hair and eyes of this picture. to express the fact that this side of hades is angry i have widened his mouth and included a lot more teeth in order to create a more frightening look while also keeping him looking slightly amused in order to suggest that the sweets on the side of this packet are still great tasting and enjoyable yet still contain fiery flavours that may make you pull a face similar to this image.in this picture, you will see my first design made using both of my illustrations of hades. in this design, i have used a lot of patterns that were designed inspired by a greek pattern found of vases, floors and artworks. while the swirl like patterns on the wing-like faces were patterns taken from the images of the fire like hair from both of these characters that i turned in to outlines that i felt complimented the overall design
The six images in this picture are of the end result of my first design created using both hades illustration i hade made earlier. I believe that this package has been folded correctly folded however this package did not hold together very well as i had used tape to secure my flaps down as an attempt to create a stronger structure that did not work.this photography is a mind map that i created with one of my peers while discussing possible improvements i could make while creating future designs. i was told that i had used slightly too many patterns in my previous designs which caused the viewer to loos focus on what the main topic of my candy box was. we also discussed possibly incorporating some assistant into my package which i will take into consideration. another point was made that i was using too many different colours in my design and because of this during my next design, I will look to use a very limited colour scheme that is high contrasting yet simple. This package design is a result of the earlier discussion i had with my peers. taking what they said on board by firstly not including as much patten as i had previously done and limiting my use of colour massively. i have used the outlines belonging to the flames i had made acting as hades hair on the base of my net as i felt that this image used the space well , i ave also taken one of the shapes from the greek styled pattern that i had made earlier and have used this diamond-shaped geek pattern on both sides of my package which i felt looked aesthetically pleasing while also letting my viewer know that this package had a greek theme if this sweet box were to be seen on its side.i believe that the assembled package of this design has resulted in a Succesful look as the folds are neat and clean and the amount of glue i ave used as proven to be effective. i also think that my lack of colour causes my two main images to stand out a great deal better than it had done in my previous busy design.
In this net design, i have attempted to create a stronger contrast in colour by using a lot of the colour black as i felt that this made my limited colour scheme look more eyecatching and professional. i also think that the black outlining i have created on the front and back sides of this package frame my main focal points and cause them to stand out massively. if you will also acknowledge the fact that i have included a drop shadows belonging to both of hades characters. i had included this as i felt that this drop shadow created a subtle 3d effect and also created a small but effective amount of contrast. I have also given my hades designs a long outstretched neck as i felt that this addition caused my positioning of the heads to look more logical as opposed to my original design that made them look slightly out of place. In this picture, you will see the many different angles of the sweet box design that i have assembled. i am pleased with this outcome as i believe that my folds are neat and unscraped. however, i do feel that this outcome does not look professional enough. i have also noticed that the diamond-shaped pattern that i have created on both sides of my sweet box had been placed on a slight angle causing the overall look to look unrefined and unfinished.
For this sweet box design, i have attempted to keep a strong amount of contrast in colour without over dominating my design with the colour black. i have done this by keeping the same pattern on the base that i have reduced to the outer edges as i felt that this design looked more professional and thought about. i have also tried to reposition my design on the sides of my boxes. i also intend to cut the background away from the front and back faces fo my sweet box in order to allow my buyer to see the sweets inside the box through the use of acetate.
This is the outcome of my design i believe that this sweet box looks interesting and more complex than my previous sweet boxed however after cutting the background away from the front and back sides of my box i realised that the closing flap belonging to this design was too long and was visible, making the overall look unprofessional therefore i will look to recreate this style box with a smaller closing flap. i also believe that the Stanly nife i used was not sharp enough which resulted in scraped edges and unstraight lines. i have also noticed that the design i have placed on the sides of my sweet box are not straight, however, i do believe that the bottom of this box is ideal as my design will allow my ingredients label and bar code to be seen without any distraction from images.for this sweet box, i have created my own greek inspired typeface that i have designed based on the original Hercules typeface and a traditional greek styled text that i had found of font space.i have furthered my sweet packaging design by adding a stronger drop shadow to the background of my designs that can be seen outlining both of my hades designs. while also using the typeface that i had made earlier, placing them where my temporary text had been. I believe that my typeface works well as its triangular stylings further express the greek theme that i have been attempting to create through my patterns and designs that have been made to resemble Disney’s Hades from Hercules.
after assembling this version of my packaging I had realised that i did not remove the blue dotted lines that act as guides while creating the folds for this sweet box. even tho this mistake was made i do feel that the assembling aspect of this sweet box has proven to be successful as i think that my folds are clean and sharp and have used an appropriate amount of glue which held this packaging together very well
This an image of my final design for this design i have changed given my images a solid black outline which i have added as i suspect that this will create a cleaner look after i have cut away the background away from my sweet packaging, leaving the image and the border intact. i have also placed the nutritional facts of my sweets on the base of this packaging and the bar code. i have placed this information on the base of this product as this section of my sweet packaging provided te most space. i also felt that by having this information on the bade was ideal as placing it here allowed me to use the more visible faces of this shape to be used for more important information and imagery. i have also added a short description of these sweets on the closing flap of my sweet box. i have added this information in order to inform the customer of what the sweets in this sweet bix are. i have placed this information on the very top of my sweet box as this information does not need to be placed on the front of this packaging as the sweets themselves will be made visible which will act as the main focal point of this sweet packet. This is an image of my final design for my sweet packaging. I believe that my final product is successful as i feel that my colour scheme works well that is dominantly white and black . as i feel that these two colours have contrasted so strongly against one another that i feel that this characteristic would help this product stand out on the shelves while competing against other similar products. i also feel that the black border that has triangular designs frames my images well. as well as this i feel that my cutting technique has proven to have been effective while my use of scoring the folds of my packaging has resulted in very clean and sharp folds that do not possess any scragged markings. the divider that i have placed in the exterior of my sweet packaging has proven to be secure and has been placed correctly, taking place in the very centre of this sweet box evenly dividing my sweets.
I have chosen these marmite pots as while walking through Marks and Spencers this item caught my eye through its very contrasting colour scheme of bright yellow and black colours. this colour scheme did not fit harmoniously with the other items on the shelf it belonged to as the other products possessed rater natural colour schemes that did not contrast with one another as dramatically as the colours belonging to these marmite pots. This caused this item to look out of place, demanding the attention of passing customers. I believe that that the unnatural colour scheme and design of these marmite pots compared to the natural colour scheme given to the other m&s made items on this shelf suggest to the customer that the marmite pots are artificially made while also suggesting that the other products belonging to there own brand are organic and the healthier choice. another reason i have chosen this product is because of how interesting i believe its sticker on the front of this product is. as its black and white swirl on the front of this product has been designed to resemble a hypnotic swirl that has been placed in a eye-shaped frame with text placed just under this image that says ” you don’t hate it, you love it!” playing on the well-known slogan belonging to marmite that says a person will either love it or hate it. i believe that by playing on this selling point causes this product’s design to be very memorable .while also challenging the customers that do not like marmite if they might be wrong about hating its taste and possibly ushering them to try this product again. this black and white contrast made through this hypnosis symbol also adds to the dramatically contrasting colour scheme of this marmite pot adding to how attention-grabbing this item is. I have also noticed that these marmite pots have been placed at eye level a fact i believe is due to this product being so well known and in high demand that this item needs to be easily accessible allowing customers to get this product as quickly as possible. which i also believe to be the reason why the Nutella brand can be seen sitting beside this product to allow the products in high demand to be easily accessible. While walking into this m&s store i was confronted with a stand filled with two types of Christmas biscuits, one of which was placed on top of this shelf that being the biscuit labelled “Percey Santa hat biscuits tin” this tin stood out before the biscuits below this product, labelled as shortbread Christmas biscuits. i believe that this pig styled biscuit tin is very interesting because of its unique pig shape and pink colour as this animal and colour is not often found on many traditional biscuit tins. i also felt that this product was successful as this shop has effectively found a way to sell it’s best selling Percy pig sweet brand as a Christmas item using this pink lovable pig to sell Christmas biscuits. as well as this i feel that the pink and red colour scheme is effective as these colours tho somewhat close of the colour wheel still contrast well against one another while also detracting attention away from its rival biscuit tins beneath this item with its bright colour and fun shape. i have noticed that this Percy pig Christmas biscuit tin does not have any description on its front. I suspect this is due to this shop believing this brand to be so well known that a label on its tin is not necessary. A characteristic i believe to be a flaw because of the small size of the label on the stand placed just underneath this item as this description is not clear enough and does not demand enough attention from the customers as they walk into this shop causing new customers that are not familiar to this particular brand to walk past uninformed as to what this tin is. However, the well-known tin material given to this biscuit tin is so intrinsically linked to the idea of Christmas biscuit tins that this material may also help suggest to the passing customers that this is a biscuit tin. while the traditionally styled Christmas biscuit tins also help imply to persons entering the shop that the pink tin above it is also filled with biscuits. The fact that this item does not have and description on its face and bright pink cartoon styled pig suggests that this product is targeting children appealing to there love of cartoons and bright colours. these bold style choices may influence young children to point this item out to their parents influencing them to approach the shelf and read the small label attached to the shelf.
while studying the products on the shelves of m&s my attention was grabbed by this alcoholic can of IPA due to its bright colour scheme that is predominantly bright pink and green. these colours contrast well against each other which causes the illustrations on this can to stand out. The illustration on this can of IPA shows an image of a green liquid syle monster arising from out of a large crack in the earth while a person stands before this monster holding a flame thrower towards this monster. i believe that the designer of this illustration has designed the monster having markings that cause it to look as tho it is made from some kind of liquid to suggest to the customer that this alcoholic beverage will unleash the wild side of a person personality. an effect that could be referred to as unleashing the beast. i also suspect that the rockets that have been placed in the background of this main image have been encorperated to suggest that this IPA has a flavour that could be described as being out of this world. I think that these unique and fun illustrations attract the attention of very young adults as this can resemble the stylings of energy drinks refecting these stylings through its bright extreme colour scheme and its fun and extravagant design. As well as this i feel that the artist’s use of a blank white informal typeface works well as its subtle rough style looks hand-drawn which adds to the hand-drawn illustrative style. This white colour causes this text to be very visible as its natural colour and plain and simple design do not detract attention away from the main focal point. which is the large green monster on the front of this can. The fact that this product has been placed at eye level on this shelf suggests that this company has faith in this product and suggests that this drink is a best seller among these drinks
While studying the selves of m&s I discovered that this shop sells a wide variety of very high-quality ready-made, frozen foods. that were being sold at a somewhat high price. Having realised this I came to the belief that this store is targeting young professionals and single persons who do not have time to cook that are also looking for high-quality foods that can be made in a short amount of time.
I have also discovered that this company sells a very small range of mainstream products and instead sell a lot of this company’s own branded products that are mostly made with organic and natural ingredients that possess somewhat unique and extravagant flavours. This company’s own branded products all possess a very minimal designs and natural colour schemes design choices I believe have been given to the majority of there products to express the natural ingredients through the lack of imagery to try to express the simplicity of these recipes.
This shop also places its best-selling products and very well-known products at eye level on their shelves. I suspect that they have done this to ensure that customers can find these best sellers in the shortest amount of time. Also on these shelves, this company displays other products that are similar to the items that this in on the shelves that are at eye level. These similar products are usually cheaper products that are less popular. While the top shelves display products that are high priced and somewhat better quality. The bottom shelves of this shop have been used to show products that are similar or relate to the main products on this shelf.
while searching the shelves of my local cooperative store i came across this unique Toblerone box that caught my attention through its shape that stood out from the generic square and rectangle-shaped chocolate boxes that have been placed beneath it. I believe that the shape of this box works well as it reflects the shape of the chocolate that is inside. while also demanding the attention of passing customers. I think that this chocolate box has been placed above the other boxes on this self due to its originality and high price as having it on the top shelf implies that this product is selling top quality chocolate. the golden colour of this chocolate box also suggests to the customer that this chocolate has a golden brown colour while the mountain illustration complements the shape of this box and the bright red colour of the name of this brands chocolate creates a very strong amount of contrast against the golden colour of this packaging. this colour also expresses a sense of urgency. The cooperative shop has placed the very well known robbisons juice on the shelf at eye level. i believe that this has been done as this product is very well known and is possibly one of their best-selling juice brands. by having what i believe to be there best-selling brand at eye level allows customers to quickly find this bestseller. This brand juice attracts the attention of its customer through exposing the bright colour of the juice it’s self through the use of its transparent bottle and the sticker that has been placed around the middle of this juice bottle. this stickers main focal point has been fashioned in the firm of this company logo attracting attention before any other imagery belonging to this sticker through its dark green colour and large white typeface that has been designed following the arched shape of this banner the white colour contrasts well against the dark green colour of this logo. this sticker also uses very natural yellow, orange and green colours. i think that the designer of this packaging has used these colours to illustrate the fact that this juice has used no artificial ingredients or preservatives. This packaging further explains the ingredients of this juice by using imagery of the fruits that have been used to make the flavour of this juiceWhile studying the items and shelves in the local cooperative food store I came across chocolate tubs that had been stacked in a unique and somewhat unorthodox way. I believe this stacking method of these very popular chocolate boxes is unsuccessful this is due to the fact that once the most popular brand of chocolate tubs has been bought by a small number of customers the best selling stack of chocolate will grow increasingly smaller until the hight of this popular chocolate box stack is no longer visible due to the large opaque boxes that these chocolate tubs have been placed in. this would potentially cause favourited chocolate tubs to stop selling as well as they had been previously. The chocolate box that stands out to me the most is the purple quality streets box. I believe that this is due to its striking purple colour and its large while typeface that has been used for the name of this band as this white colour contrasts well against this purple colour. This strong contrast in colour makes this typeface visible from far distances. This tub also illustrates the colours of the chocolate wrappers within this box through the use of a faded colour wheel design that has been placed on the lid of this box, informing the customers that the chocolates in this tub have been wrapped in these colours. This colour wheel design can be seen taking place on the sides of this box capturing the attention of its audience from all angles. I also believe that the octagon shape of this box also attracts the attention of its audience through its unique look and many faces that allow more space for different designs that help advertise this product. While studying the shelves in Iceland superstore I came across this very interesting sweet shop stand which presented its customers with giant plastic lollypops that had been designed protruding from the roof of this sweet stand. I have also noticed that on the top shelf of this stand that this store has placed large tubes filled with chupa chup lollies. I believe that this has been done to reflect the styling of the sweet stand itself. I also believe that this shop has placed these tubes of lollypops on the top shelf as to express that these Lillie pops are high priority, are of good quality and are a somewhat higher price than the rest of the products on this sweet shelf. another reason I believe that these sweets have been placed on this top shelf is to attract the attention of adults as this is at eye level which may attract the attention of small business owners who perhaps run corner shops or small sweet shops. This shop has also placed smaller, more reasonably priced items just beneath this shelf of which is set at a rather low hight than second shelves in supermarkets usually are. This is due to the large space that these tall and wide lolly pop tubes occupy. I also think that having these novelty styled sweets on the second shelf, at this hight attracts the attention of passing children due to the unique way that these sweets have been made to mimic the styling of different food such as sushi and pizza, effectively capturing the attention of its target audience through there fun stylings. As the products on this shelf graduate to the bottom of this sweet stand shelves, the prices again grow more expensive and the bags of sweets again grown larger. The large chuba chub lolly tubes effectively attract the attention of its viewer through the use of its transparent, plastic casing which acts as the main focal point. The seemingly endless rows of Lillie pops crates a big impact of the viewer and intrigues costumers to come closer to look at this product while the large sticker of this brands logo on the front of these tubes act as the second pain focal point through its large size and bright contrasting colour scheme of yellow and red the informal, curved typeface that also possesses exaggerates serifs creates a personal look while also creating a fun and interesting. The very curved stylings and the conjoined design causes an almost elegant flow that combined with the red colour given to this typeface causes this type to resemble the look of red liquorice whips. This resemblance works well as it reflects the fact that this company sells sweets. As I was studying the reasoning behind the way in which Iceland wear house stacks their shelves I came across this small crisp stand. This stands interreges me through the unique way that these products have been stacked. These different crisps have been stacked on top of one another and does not use a shelf. this unique towering technique reveals the way in which these stacks of crisps belonging to different brands compete. Doing so by showing the customer which brand of crisp is the most sought after doing so by having these crisp stacked in this tower fashion and so close to one another which creates a bar chart effect. which clearly shows the customer that the best selling brand of crisp is the twiglet, marmite flavour crisps The marmite flavour twiglet crisps while being the bestselling crisp also, in my opinion, possess the most effective design. I have this opinion due to its very eye-catching and contrasting colour scheme of bright red and black. This colour scheme possesses the strongest colours that stand out better than the other crisps in this stand. Another reason why I believe that the twiglet brand crisp is the most effective is to the way that this brands logo stands out through the use of its white typeface that stands out well against its res oval background. as well as this the informal and imperfect design of its typeface reflects the irregular and imperfect shape of the crisp within this tube. While the black colour of the background illustrates the dark black, marmite flavoured coating that has been given to the crisps that this tube is advertising.
The first thing I notice about the way in which this shelf has been staked is the way that the majority of egg cartons advertised on this shelf are large packs of eggs that have been placed on the very top shelves and on the lower shelves between these large pack of eggs, that all had shared the same price is a British brand of six eggs that have the lowest price and have been placed on the shelf at eye level. I believe that this has been done due to the fact that this low price makes this carton of eggs more appealing to customers who are shopping on a budget or are single persons. This company has placed the UK’s best selling brand of high-quality free-ranged eggs at the top of this shelf. I believe this has been done in order to suggest to the viewer that this brand of eggs is of high quality. while just beneath the cheapest cartons are eggs belonging to the same brand as the British branded eggs that have been placed at eye level . i believe that brand of eggs have been placed just underneath the cheaper eggs as they belong to the same brand. and are of a better quality than the egg cartons below as this British branded egg are free-ranged good quality eggs while the brand beneath sells eggs that are gathered from different sources and to not resemble each other in size or colour. The carton of eggs that grabs my attention the most it the large egg carton that belongs to the happy egg company that has been placed on the very top shelf. this carton captures my attention firstly through its bright light orange colour which i believe has been given to this box to resemble the colour of the sun effectively expressing the fact that these eggs contain large amounts of vitamin D while also reflecting the bright orange/yellow colour of the yolks belonging to eggs. the second focal point of this carton is the happy eggs text and logo, demanding attention through the use of its red typeface that has been given lowercase letters which causes the customer to read this text in a softer manner while its red colour expresses a matter of importance and urgency while the other text belonging to this brands text is smaller which exaggerates the size of the text in red while its green colour suggests a sense of positivity. the imagery behind this text shows a large white egg shape that has been given lines on its top that cause this shape to resemble a sun. i suspect that the designer has done this to further inform the customer that these eggs contain vitamin D While also suggesting that these eggs have come from a sunny farm. the flying chicken that has an egg body illustrates the name of this company and explains the fact that the chicken that these eggs have been farmed from are happy and free-range.. the text on the left of this carton has been given a bright green colour. i think that this has been done to reflect the colour of the grass that is found on the farmland that these eggs have come from. i have also noticed that this company has shown the number of eggs in a large green egg. i think this egg shape has been made this size to express the fact that the eggs in this carton are all large. and the green colour that has been used that is also used for the text makes the eye of the customer to read the text then straight towards this egg shape , ensuring that this shape and information seem before the image if the British flag that has been included to inform the customer that this egg company uses British farms.
Here i have researched filberts beeswax products. my research has shown that this company used very beautiful and elegant illustrations for its products. most of which include imagery of natural subjects while also illustrating the ingredients used. filberts products also always have an image of a bee placed on it all of its products and there packaging. i have also noticed that this company uses a lot of pale colours that do not strongly contrast against one another but instead create a harmonious colour scheme. The effective illustration style used on the front of these products reminds me of the drawing style belonging to children’s storybooks such as the Roldal books and the original Winnie the Pooh books having very thin unrefined markings and pale colour schemes. i also believe that these hand-drawn illustrations cause these products to look higher priced due to there complexity and aesthetic appeal.I have chosen Burts Bees due to the fact that this brand uses the same main ingredient as my chosen company which is filberts of Dorset, that being beeswax. this company also uses this ingredient to create the same products such as lip balm, hand creams, foot creams and soaps however Burts Bees has been known to create a wider range of products having products ranging from makeup to shampoo . while researching this brands product i have learned that this brand uses a main colour scheme of yellow, orange and red, using these colours in different shades. i believe that this has been chosen as the golden yellows and oranges in this colour scheme resemble the colour of honey while the red used creates a strong contrast in colour while still being a colour which is very close to the orange and yellow colours on the colour wheel. I have also noticed that the illustrations on Burts bees products are very sophisticated and somewhat mature as opposed to the elegant cartoon style belonging to the illustrations on filberts products. This brand labelled BEE Good also crates products using beeswax as its main ingredient. this product presents its items using light colours that don’t possess any gradients wile displayed on items. this brand also does not create items that share two different colours . and has a very simplistic yet effective logo using a very contrasting colour scheme of black and white which i believe is very effective as it causes the simple design belonging to this logo to cause a better impact of the viewer better than it would if this logo were made using the traditional yellow to red colour scheme often used in beeswax logo designs. After researching other brands similar to this company i have come to the conclusion that this company’s target audience is nature conscious young women with a disposable income who have a love of organic products. as the elegant and somewhat childlike style of the illustrations belonging to filberts, products convey a sense of innocents which suggests that their products do not damage the planet or its animals and possess clean natural ingredients.
Here are some images i found that i felt were effective, i have chosen designs that are very detailed and show lots of colour. i intend to use these images as inspiration while designing my logo.this mood board shows images that i felt were similar to the illustrations on filberts products. i will look to create designs similar to these images.I believe that this Winney the pooh perfume packaging is very successful due to its clear and effective colour scheme that is predominantly yellow and red . as these colours reflect the two colours belonging to winy the pooh himself/. this colour scheme also resembles the way that Winny the pooh wears his t-shirt doing so by having the base of this box red while the rest of the front and top of this package is yellow. The striped pattern given to this box possesses colours which clash with one another . in my opinion this striped pattern has a retro look. i believe that this child-like illustration and the colourfull spotted pattern suggest this product is for at children but is aimed at the parents of these children appealing to them through this retro pattern that has been designed travelling throughout the hold design of this box separating the yellow and red colour while adding more detail to the overall design of this perfume box as without this pattern i believe that this box would look too simple and boring possibly causing this perfume to appear to be cheap. This box also reflects the honey pot perfume bottle that sits inside its box through the image of the honey pot which Winney the pooh can be seen holding in his arm and the bee he can be seen looking at. i also admire the way that the designer of this product has used the traditional red Winney the pooh logo structure and typeface style. this logo has also been given a white outline that contrasts well against the bright red colour of this typeface, causing this logo to act as the main focal point a characteristic which is effective as this informs the customer of the style belonging to this perfume before any other imagery has been seen. just above this logo is an image of the Disney brand allowing the customer to know what brand this perfume bottle belongs to. shortly after this, the viewer’s attention is then caught by the image of Winnie the pooh through the use of a brighter shade of yellow. once this image has been studied the very loud pattern on the front of this package demands attention, which is shortly followed by the spotted pattern on the base on this box.i have chosen this Alice in wonderland perfume box due to this brads popularity and its aesthetically pleasing front cover presenting its audience with a very detailed vintage style drawing of the l rabbit that features in the original Alice in wonderland book. this vintage style is exaggerated through the use of this simple highly contrasting black and dirty white colour scheme as the dusted white colour creates an aged look. due to the older styling of this illustration, the simplicity of this perfume box I have come to believe that this product’s target audience is young alternative women from the age of 16-25 a belief i have come to due to the well-known fact that Alice in wonderland merchandise is well known to be loved by many alternative people while the colours black and white is also known to be worn together in pride by these groups of people, Another reason why i believe that this perfume box is successful is due to the way that the designer of this box has designed the rabbit to act as the main focal point as this image is very well known to represent the idea of Alice in wonderland that this allows the customer to know what brand this product is before reading the name of this perfume that has been placed just beneath this image in the original and iconic Alice in wonderland typeface. this typeface has also been used on the sticker that had been placed around the front of the perfume bottle its self. the way that the typeface used for the word Ravenscourt has been made to have this bow-like shape that grows larger at the edges of this bottle creating the elution that this bottle is wider than it truly is.I believe that this product’s packaging is successful due to its use of a bright colour scheme of white and pink that complements the very cute illustration of the rabbit on the front of this pokie box. This cute illustration and the pink and white colour of this pocky box creates a very feminine looking item that looks appropriate for children and young teenagers due to the illustration being so simple and cartoon-like resembling the drawing styles belonging to children’s cartoon programs and toys. another reason why i think that this pokey box is successful is due to its simple but effective typeface that has been placed at the top of this box in a ached style that shadows the round shape of the top of the head of this rabbit drawing .i also think that the fact that this product has used two labels on the front of this box one being English and Japanese that allow this product to be sold to a very wide range of customers all over the world. this poky box is also very fun as t has a changing face that customers can create by removing the first layer of eyes to reveal the winking and red-eye beneath it a feature that is very appealing to children. A final reason that i think that this packaging is effective is because of the way in which the designer of this product has included imagery of the chocolate biscuit sticks on the front of this box that also acts as the main focal point ensuring that customers know what chocolate is in this package.
This coralise eye shadow pallet has been designed having the image of Coraline’s face acting as the main focal point capturing the attention of the viewer through the subtle contrast in colour that has been created through the extremely pale blue colour of corallines face and the dark shades of blues and purples taking place around this image. I believe that by having this image as the main focal point informs the customer of the brand of this product before studying another imagery or text. the second main focal point of this product is the typeface is the name of the brand of this product. this name has been designed having the original typeface as was given to the title of this film. a style choice i believe has been given as to this title to remind customers who have seen this movie of the plot of the Coraline film through the use of the image of the button that can be seen acting as the letter o in the word Coraline reflecting the ways in which the monster in this film attempts to sow buttons into corallines eyes. once the name of this eyeshadow pallet has been read the viewer’s eye is then caught by the number twelve that can be seen taking place underneath the name of this product. attracting attention through its yellow colour and size which is much larger than the words that follow after this number that inform the customer of how many shades of colour are in this case. once the viewer as reading this the vibrant colours of different shades of purples and blues are studied by the customer suggesting to the customer that these shades are included amongst the 12 shades of eyeshadows. i think that this product is attempting to target a young audience a beliefe i have due to the way in which this eyeshadow pallets design of its case uses the same drawing style belonging to the Coraline film that has an age rating of PG. suggesting that this eyeshadow pallet is suitable for young alternative teensI believe that this Sephora lip balm is effective because of its bright yellow colour which demands attention from passing customers while the banana illustrations that have been displayed in the lid of this lip balm case convey a sense of fun while also illustrating the scent and flavour of this lip balm to customer. the typeface at the base of this tube has been given a black colour which stands out well from the yellow background allowing it to be very visible while the simple and outstretched design creates a very easy to read text that also uses the space provided Wisley. The overall design of this lip balm tube is elegant while having a summery and vibrant style. crating a very aesthetically pleasing look that influences customers to pay this brand’s high prices for products like this banana lip balm. i believe that this product is for older women with disposable income who love natural based products.
I am very fond of this Aristocats perfume tube and bottle due to the elegant and pretty illustrations that have been given to this product and its packaging. i am also fond of the pale blue and pink colour scheme and this hand the hand-rendered style of the illustrations belonging to this perfume bottle. The floral patterns and somewhat sweet designs belonging to this perfume cause me to assume that this perfume is targeting a very young female audience appealing to little girls through the use of a very well known Disney character .this particular brand may also appeal to younger parents who have seen this film while growing up. the designer of this perfume bottle has created the image of the arista cats called Marie to act as the main focal point doing so by attracting the attention of the viewer with its pink colour that contrasts well against the very pale blue background. This characteristic is effective as this informs the customer of the brand of perfume without having to read the name of this perfume that has been placed above this image. i also believe that the border around this bottle frames the important information belonging to this bottle well while effectively separating the floral pattern from the rest of the imagery given to this perfume bottle case.I find this Alice in wonderland and soapbox very interesting because of the unique drawing style that presents Alice in a less flattering way, doing so by portraying this character as a young child that has a distorted and sad look of her face. i believe that this type of drawing style and the black and white checkered board causes this box to attract the attention of alternative teenagers. i have also noticed that the typefaces used on this box has also been designed rebelling against the traditional Alice in wonderland typeface. the designer of this box first attracts the attention of its audience with the image of Alice whos left arm guides the customer’s eye towards the text on the front of this box that has been placed in a white rectangle that looks like a sign. the red typeface that has been used to display the brand of this product stands out well due to the strong contrast in colour that has been created through the white rectangle shape and the bright red colour of the typeface causing the brand of this soap to act as the second focal point of this soap bars packaging. just beneath the brand of this soap, the designer has placed a brief description of the product within this box allowing effectively informing the customer of what the imagery on this box is advertising. i am also very fond of the way that just beneath the description the designer has encorperated a secondary description of this soap that plays on the iconic quote from this storybook that being the sentence curiouser and curiouser. an addition which i believe to be very effective as it appeals to peoples love of this quote, further persuading lovers of this book to buy this item. The box belonging to this perfume by daisy marc jacobs is simple yet effective due to its simple shape that is appropriate for this bottle due to its large size and different shape as this rectangular box looks as tho it can fit this bottle in well without any complications. another reason i believe the box to this perfume to be successful is because of the way in which its design well reflects the stylings and colour belonging to its product doing so through the daisy chain like border that can be seen travelling around the edges of this box, well reflecting the name of this perfume and the very large flowers that have been given to the lid of the perfume bottle that it is advertising. The golden colour given to the name of this brand suggests to the customer that the bottle in this box is a golden colour. The bottle of this perfume is very unique and creates a lasting impression doing so through the use of its large daisies that have been placed on the lid of this bottle which not only makes a big impact on its viewers but also expresses the name of this bottle in an extravagant way causing customers to recognise this brand from a greater distance. of the flowers on this bottle also illustrates the floral scent of this perfume. This original perfume bottle also possesses a very simple colour scheme of gold, white and subtle hints of black. i think that the colour gold has been used to imply to the customer that this product is expensive and of a very good quality. while the white colour belonging to the petals of the flower reflects the true colour of daisy petals. the black colour of the text that presents the same of this brand works well as this colour enables this text to be very visible and clear while the simple typeface allows the viewer to read the name of this brand in a short amount of time while also not distracting attention away from this bottles main feature of which is the large daisy on its lid. after evaluating this perfume i have come to the conclusion that this perfume is targeting a female audience with disposable income because of its somewhat complex floral design and expensive-looking golden colour.
The designer of the casing of this product has designed the main focal point of this lip balm as the word joy that has been written using a script font which created a personal, light-hearted look. the bee that can be beside this typeface has a drawing style similar to the design given to this script typeface which creates a harmonious style. this image of a bee also inform as well as this, the yellow background given to the midsection of this tube expresses the word joy well as this is the colour of the sun a symbol of which could be associated with the concept of happiness.this colour is also found in pollen which y
The bottles belonging to this lip balm presents its viewer with a light lime green colour which reflects the fact that this bottle possesses lime as an ingredient. while the faint floral pattern taking place within the lime green colour addresses the fact that blossom is also an ingredient that has been added to make this lip balm. The small bees on this small bottle also express an ingredient symbolising the honey that is also in this product while also expressing the name of this brand and the well-known fact that all of there products include ingredients foraged from bees. i suspect that the designer of this product has designed this bottle having very light colours and subtle patterns as an attempt to suggest that this product is one that is not harsh on skin doing so by not using harsh colours. I think that the main focal point of this lip balm is the logo which demands the attention of the viewer through its high contrasting simple colour scheme of black and white. this brands logo illustrates the main ingredients of its products while also expressing the meaning of this brands name though the use of its image of a bee and its hexagon background shape that mimics the shape of the holes found in honey combe. The serif typeface creates a formal and sophisticated look which may appeal to a more mature audience. I believe that the formal design of this typeface causes this brands product to look professional and the simplicity of this typeface suggests to the viewer that this lip balm possesses an elegant sent. due to this lip balm having every formal and delicate design aspects i believe that this product is attempting to attract the attention of older women who are looking for a product that is gentle on skin and does not have an overpowering scent who have disposable incomeThe way in which the designer of this lip balm has designed the graphics on this product works well as the natural orange colour used in the white space on these labels well reflect the orange colour of the honey used in this product while the very light colour orange that has been used resembles the colour of skin illustrating the fact that this product is to be used on skin. the use of these natural colours also explains the short description of this lip balm in a very simple way. this simplicity can also be seen in the minimalistic design belonging to the background of these labels that have been given three faint honey combe hexagon shapes that effectively make reference to the way in which the hexagon shapes in honey combe are formed from beeswax. i believe the informal look of the typeface used for this brand causes the text to look hand-rendered a style choice which i believe exaggerates the idea of this product being natural. even tho the simplicity of the designs belonging to both these products work well at advertising these brands natural-based products the lack of complex designs and extravagant colours cause this brand to look inexpensive causing me to believe that this product is targeting a female audience with a low income who have a love natural products.
a
This lip balm called beeswax .shea butter garden lip balm caught my attention through its extravagant floral pattern which expresses the word garden used in the name of this lip balm while also expressing the concept of bees though the way that flowers are intrinsically linked to the idea of bees because of the well-known fact that beeswax is a product that bees make using the pollen from flowers. another reason why this lip balm is so eyecatching is because of the way that the purple and red colours within this pattern contrast so brightly against one another just as the different pieces of flowers do that belong to one garden. the way that this floral the way that the designer of this lip balm has made this pattern in a rounded shape complements the shape of this lip balms casing. the name of this lip balm also does this through the way that it has been designed travelling around the outside of this pattern. the typeface given to the text on this case looks informal and hand-rendered which i believe crates a more personalised look. i believe that his product has been given this very busy design as an attempt to suggest to the viewer that this lip balm has a strong floral scent. Even tho the styling of this lip balm is very attractive i feel that it does not possess any sophisticated qualities but has a rather free-formed design that reflects the ways of nature which causes this lip balm to look inexpensive as it does not resemble stylings of well known successful brands and it is because of this that I believe this brand is attempting to sell this product to nature-loving women who may have faith in herbal remedies that have a moderate income. The first thing i notice about the design on this lip balm case is the way that this case possesses one solid colour that is a very soft natural brown a colour which I believe has been used to express to the viewers that this product possesses no harsh chemicals and is not strong smelling. and is kind to skin This lip balm tube also possesses one style of typeface that is used throughout the text belonging to this design. this typeface is informal and simplistic characteristics i believe have been incorporated to further advertise this lip balm as a product that has clean and natural ingredients. as well as this i think that the designer of this product has included an image of a friendly cartoon bear to feature on the front of this product in order to illustrate the word name of this brand that is the bear hug honey company. i believe that the plastic material and the very simplistic stylings of this product causes this item to look inexpensive and appeals to women with a low o moderate-income that may be allergic to products with harsh chemicals.
I believe that this lip balm is simple yet effective as the brown colour causes me to assume that this product is made using natural ingredients due to the natural look of this sandy brown colour. I think that the bold serif typeface works very well with the lack of imagery on this lip balm tube as this allows the brand of this lip balm to make a bigger impact of the viewer while the black colour given to this typeface contrasts very strongly against the light brown background of this product. i am also fond of the logo on this lip balm as it illustrates the main ingredients in this product which is beeswax doing so through the use of an image of a bee that has been given the traditional black and yellow colour. this logo also shows imagery of flower petals that can be seen taking place just underneath this image of a bee that tracks around the right side of the image of the bee, expressing the fact that beeswax is derived from the pollen in flowers through the use of very simple imagery. the simplicity of this product and its plastic material creates an inexpensive look which may attract the attention of older women with low income that seeks out products made with natural ingredients.
The reason why i have chosen this hand cream by Burts bees due to its fun yellow colour as this colour demanded my attention. this yellow colour works well for this product as it expresses the fact that banana is one of the main ingredients in this hand cream. as well as this i think that the designer of this product has used this soft creamy yellow colour in order to create a more natural-looking design as opposed to if this product were made using a bright artificial yellow colour. I am also fond of the very detailed bees and banana illustrations as i believe these pictures create very fun yet complex design. the yellow of the design of this pot matches the yellow colour of the hand cream inside while also creating a strong amount of contrast against the red colour of the Burts bees logo causing the logo to have a greater impact on its viewers. the typeface uses underneath this logo has a very formal and sophisticated design which is easy to read, allowing the customer to retrieve the most amount of information in a short amount of time which is an ideal feature for a product that competes with other similar brands that sit on the same shelf in stores. due to the fact that the bright yellow colour and the very technical illustrations create a product that is very aesthetically pleasing and expresses the fact that this product uses natural products causes me to assume that this product is for middle ages women who have a healthy income with money to spare who seak out top branded products with high quality, natural ingredients. The first thing that captures my attention on this soapbox is the white imagery places on the front of this packaging that displays imagery of both honey bees and honey combe both images which well express that fact that this products main ingredient os beeswax which is made by bees and is derived from honeycomb. i also believe that the white colour given to this imagery causes it to stand out well because of the strong contrast that this colour crates against the purple background of this box while also looking very unique and elegant. as well as this i feel that the purple background helps to further advertise this soap as being a feminine product with a sweet scent. even tho i think that the imagery helps advertise this product. i do not believe that the very thin and pale design of the name of this product’s brands is effective as this style makes the brand’s name very difficult to see from small distances and does not make a strong enough impact. as well as this i do not think that the brown coloured rectangle that has been used to frame the names of the sent of this bar of soap complements the light purple colour of this box however the dark colour of this rectangle does contrast very well against this colour causing this shape to act as the main focal point. to add to this i think that the white colour of the typeface of that has been used to list the ingredients works well and causes this text to stand out. due t the fact that the designs given to this sope box do not possess mass amounts of bright colours or any cartoonlike features and possesses a very simple design and colour scheme causes me to assume that this packaging has not been designed for young customers but instead older women . the simple stylings also cause this product to look inexpensive, which may attract the attention of women with a lower income.
The designer of this candle has fashioned the main focal point in the form of the yellow shape that can be seen taking place in the centre of the image of a bee. i believe that this is due to the strong contrast that can be seen taking place because of the strong contrast that the colour black crates against the very strong yellow colour of the star. i believe that this image acts as a very logical focal point as this image well expresses the fact that the name of this brand refuses to a star consolation. while the image of the bee that frames this shape informs the viewer that the ingredients used in this candle have been derived from bee products. this illustration of a bee is also very simple while also being very aesthetically pleasing. just underneath this image of the bee is the name of the brand belonging to this product. This serif typeface that has been given a black colour looks very formal and sophisticated. i also I believe that this brands name has been designed having capital letters only featuring at the beginning of its words as to express the name big in the name big dipper doing so through the way in which the use of the lowercase letters in this typeface seems to exaggerate the larger size of the capital letters an effect which I don’t believe would be taking place if this brands name were created using only capital letters. the typeface beneath the name of this brand has been given a sanserif, capital letter typeface that has been written in a smaller size as to not still focus from the name of this brand while the capital letters still express a sense of importance. the curved typeface that has been used that informs the customer that this candle has been made from 100% beeswax complements the styling belonging to the percentage sign used as the stylings of this typeface has been placed as a slight angle. i also this that te curled serifs and rounded styling of this text looks decorative and fashionable, further adding aesthetic appeal, a smaller typeface runs just under this information which uses a sanserif typeface and has been made in capital letters which i suspect has been used to capture the attention of the audience before the larger, more more decorative imagery. i think this average style text accomplishes this through the spacing technique that the designer has used which allows this text to be seen over a larger line rather than if this text had closer spacing. after this text has been read the large black band that can be seen taking place near the bottom of this packaging grabs the attention of the customer with its strong contrast and solid colour the white typeface given to the words beeswax in this band stands out and causes this text to be clear and bold allowing this text to capture the attention of customers from a lengthy distance. i feel that the image of the honey combe that takes place at the bottom of this packaging illustrates the fact that the main ingredient of this candle has been made from elements found in this natural substance. the bright orange and yellow glow that has been given to this image effectively advertise this product as a luxurious item. i have come to the conclusion that this item is targeting both middle-aged men and women who have a disposable income .
This bar of soaps case interests its viewers with the golden colour. suspect that the designer of this packaging has used this colour in order to express the word queen in the name the queen bee belonging to this sope doing this through the well-known fact that queens are well known to wear gold while reflecting the gravity of there wealth. the main focal point of this packaging is the name of this soap which demands attention through the use of its capital lettering and subtle sharp serifs that give this typeface a clean style. the description of this hand soap underneath this title acts as the second focal point because of its capital letters as this expresses important while its slightly smaller size ensures that this text is not read before the name of this soap. after the viewer has read this there eye is guided upwards across the front of this case to the large black pattern that resembles the styling of a wax seal that has the name of the brand of this product travelling around the outside of this symbol. i believe that this has been done to advertise this brand as being an official company. the maker of this casing has designed another stamp-like image that can be seen taking place beneath the beef description of this product’s contents which informs customers that this company has not tested this product on animals re-ensuring customers that this soap bar is animal-friendly. the sent of this sap has been written using the same typeface used in the text beneath the name of this product because this is also a description of this product. the silhouette of the bee that has been made to protrude out of the lip of this casting illutstraights the word bee belonging to this soap while also mimicking the design of the bar of soap that this case is advertising. i think that this product is trying to attract the attention of wealthy women who are looking for luxurious products and are animal rights activists. The main focal point of this product’s packaging is the design on the lid of this product that shows an image of a half-peeled almond that has a picture of honey combe behind the right side of this nut. this image works well as it illustrates the main ingredients belonging to this body butter of which is almond milk and honey combe. this image possesses strong contrast in colour that occurs through the cream on half the almond and the light brown and orange colours coming from the shelled half of this nut and the honeycomb. this main focal point also features the logo of this brand that has been designed having a very light silver colour. i believe that the brand’s logo has been designed in this subtle fashion as to not detract attention away from the main focal point causing the main image to draw in the attention of the customer with the images of the ingredients which after seeing they then read the name of this brand. i think that the designer has placed the imagery for this product on the lid of this body butters pot as this section provides the most space, allowing the designer to create a larger image that makes a bigger impact on its customers, an effect i don’t believe would be possible if this design was placed on the sides of this body butter pot. The side of this pot’s lists the ingredients and smell of this moisturiser in a large, bold, back typeface that contrasts extremely well against the white colour of this pot. this typeface has also been made using capital letters which suggests a sense of importance.while the simple stylings ensure that unnecessary designing aspects do not distract the customer attention away from the sent of this body butter. After the viewer has read the main ingredients and sent off this moisturiser their eye is then led to the smaller text that tells the name of this product’s brand that sits just above the large text that tells the ingredients of this body butter. The name of this brand draws in attention with its capital letters and bold lettering but does not detract attention away from the name of this product due to its significantly smaller size. the way in which the ingredients and smell of this product is read just before the name of this brand reflects the fact that the almond and honey image on the lid of this pot is seen before brands logo. the text in the orange rectangle has a white text taking place within it that says ” for sensitive, dry skin”. i suspect that the designer has used this orange colour to reflect the colour of honey while the white typeface of this text causes this sentence to stand out while placing this information within this shape to make sure that this text is read before the writing beneath this rectangle. Underneath this shape is a thin and small san serif typeface that says ” Soothing and Restoring Body butter.” this typeface uses the same sanserif, bold typeface that has been used through throughout the text placed on this pot. this text is a lot smaller than the text used before this information which causes this text to be seen last. The designer of this product then attracts the attention of the audience with the stamp-like image that can be seen taking place on the side of this pot. this image features text within its shape that informs the customer that this product has no artificial ingredients I believe that this information has been placed in this stamp like way to look official causing this information to appear to be more reliable. i also suspect that the while of this pot has been added to reflect the colour of almond milk and possibly the colour of the body butter inside. the text on the back of this product advertises this product as bringing 48h intensive moisture for sensitive, dry skin while also listing the main ingredients used. i think that this has been added to ensure that the customer is made aware of what this product is and does while this pot is at this angle. The main focal point belonging to this lip balm tube is the san serif, red capital letters that tell the customer that this lip balm contains high amounts of vitamin E. I believe that the designer has used this bright red colour not only to b=create a strong amount of contrast but to express the fact that this product can be used for medical purposes, providing aid for damaged lips. i have this belief due to the fact that this colour is well known to feature in first aide symbols. as well as this i believe that this simple, san serif style has been used to ensure that the customer does not become distracted by the design of the typeface allowing the meaning of this text to have a lasting impression. the second main focal point of this product is the name of the brand of this lip balm that has been placed just above the main focal point. even tho this text has been placed above this text it is still seen second due to its black colour that does not stand out as well as the bright red colour of the text below and its smaller size. after the customer has read this name the eye is then guided upwards to look at the logo of this brand, which i believe has been placed at the top of this tubes able to express a sense of importance while the black colour stands out against the white background i also think that this black has made it possible for this symbol to act as the third focal point as if this logo were given the same bright colour as the text that informs the viewer that this product contains vitamin e i believe that it would be this logo that would act as the main focal point. just underneath the large, red text is a description of this product. this text has been given the same style typeface that has been used in the name of this brand. i think this has been done to create a more professional look. this description has also been written below in another language, advertising this product to a wider variety of people. the red rectangle that features underneath the description of this product possesses a writing that has been given a very thin structure that does not allow a lot of contrast which causes this image to be seen on this label in this order. towards the bottom of this tubes label is another brief description of the main ingredient and its purpose I think that has been added to ensure that the customer is well informed of what this product is and its health benefits. the final focal point of this lip balm is the bright red band that can be seen taking place at the very bottom of this tuv=be that has been used to frame a section of text that tells the viewer that this lip balm can be used on any skin type, using the white colour of the typeface to create contrast that makes this text stand out and create a bigger impact.
This product draws in the attention of customers well through its vibrant images of plumbs that provide a lot of purples, reds and bright orange colours that create a very interesting image that also ill straight that the main ingredient and scent of this product is plumb. it is the image of the orange flesh of this fruit that acts as the main focal point. this large image of these plumbs stands out further through the use of the black edge of this lid that acts as a border. The brand’s logo has been placed in the centre of this lid acting as the second focal point because of its light grey colour as opposed to if this logo was given a brighter colour as I believe it would act as the main focal point. the large sticker on this pot influences the customers to buy and test t this product through its obnoxious amount if contrast and large capital letters which emphasise this command that has been placed of this lid. the bottom half of this post has been given a brighter purple colour which separates it from the imagery on the top of this product. The text of the name of this product has been given a simple san serif typeface that is clear and visible due to the strong amount of contrast that the white colour of this typeface crates against the reddish-purple colour of its background. the smaller text placed above this large white text lists the name of the brand of this product using the same typeface and colour but a smaller typeface that allows the name if the smell of this product to stand out before the brand’s name. just beneath this products name is a brief description of the purpose of this product. this section of text has been given the same size at the text just beneath the large typeface, this characteristic creates a framing effect while also suggesting that the name of this brand and the description of this body butter share the same amount of importance.
This is an image of a pink-tinted, Burts bees branded lip balm. This product provides aid to chapped lips while also acting as a very subtle lipstick which i believe appeals to women who wear makeup daily who are also in need of lip care. i also believe that this product is advertising to young women through its aesthetic appeal that resembles the stylings belonging to expensive lipsticks looks making this lip balm look sophisticated yet stylish. i also believe that these design choices which have made this simple product appear to be expensive, targeting young women with a disposable income. This product can often be found in large supermarkets such as boots, super drug and many more. I believe that this lip balm competes well and stays very visible and clear while on supermarket shelves due to the large contrast that occurs in this light pink, black and white. this colour scheme enhances the way in which the text of this product’s brand stands out as its white colour helps the brand’s name make a bigger impact. This is an image of a beeswax biased hand cream. this hand cream has been given a colour scheme that is mostly purple that also uses the colour black. white and very small traces of yellow. i believe that the designer of this product has used mass amounts of purple colours to express the fact that this hand cream is Lavander scented. this product also illustrates the fact that beeswax is the main ingredients of this product. the main focal point of this hand cream is the serif typeface. the formal design of this typography causes his product to look professional . while its simple style allows the most amount of information to be retrieved in the shortest amount of time. the second focal point of this hand creams packaging it the purple text that sits below the main text. this purple text informs the customer that this pot is lavender scented while the purple colour has been given to reflect the colour of lavender. once the customer has read this the designer of the label of this jar with two images of the main ingredients of this product which is the lavender plant. once this has been seen the text near the top of the label that has been wrapped around the middle of this jar. that informs the customer that this candle contains honey and beeswax . i believe this text has been given a script style typeface to suggest that these ingredients are luxurious while adding athletic appeal. The vert fine and elegant typeface at the very top of this lable show’s the initials and location of where this company is based. i suspect that this information has been given this very this text as it is no a necessity for the customer to read this information as it is clearly listed on the lid of this pot. the final focal point belonging to this lable is the light and dark purple hexagon pattern that has been given to either side of this jar. i think that this design has been given to this packaging to express the fact that this candle is lavender scented shown through the designer’s use of the colour purple while the honey and beeswax ingredients have been represented through the hexagon pattern that has been created resembling the styling of coney comb. the logo of this hand creams company has been placed on the lid as this ensures that the customer is made aware of this hand creams company.
This is an image of a tattoo body ream that has been made by loreal for men. the designer of this bottle has designed the main focal point of this product as the back and white illustration in the background of this bottle. The stylings of this illustration looks hand-rendered and resemble the stylings of popular tattoo designs, effectively expressing to the customer that this product is for tattoos before having to read any information beforehand. The next focal point belonging to this moisturiser it the logo of this brand that has been placed at the very top of this bottle in a black colour which in-keeps with this products colour scheme which is predominantly black and uses small amounts of the colour orange. beneath this logo are the words men experts that have been given a very bold sanserif typeface that has also been designed again using the colour black. I believe that this typeface has been given a san sefis typeface to allow the customer to retrieve this information in a short amount of time without being distracted by unnecessary design elements such as extended serifs of decorative designs. Once I have read this information above my attention is then caught by the bright orange box that has been used to present the typeface that informs the customer as to what this product does. I believe that this text has been placed in this orange box to express a matter of importance while influencing the reader to read these words in a more exaggerated manner an effect which also exists due to the capital letters used. This typeface has also been given a silver colour which causes this text to look as though it has been made using white space. The designer of this bottle has also used this white space technique in the x symbol that can be seen taking place within this orange rectangle. I suspect that this x has been given to this product to express that this lotion could be considered to be an extreme body lotion. I have come to this belief due to the well-known fact that the letter x on men’s cosmetics is well known to fetcher in the word extreme substituting for the letters e and x in the word extreme of more commonly features on its own representing this word. Underneath this rectangle the name of this product which tells the customer that this body lotion is for tattoos. This text is thin and had been given a sanserif typeface while being all in capitals and has been placed within a jet-black rectangle. I think that the designer of this product has design this text in this thin typeface to ensure that this text does not detract attention away from the previous focal points while its white colour causes this text to be seen before the more colour full orange text that is written in a different language beneath it as the white colour creates a stronger amount of contrast with the black colour of the background than the orange colour given to the text I think that the designer of this product has included text written in a different language to expand their target market. Just underneath this black rectangle is a smaller white rectangle that has a thin sanserif typeface that informs the customer of the main ingredient used in this product that stands out to the customer with its black colour and white background. The fourth and last rectangle on this lotion has been given a silver colour that frames a bold black, san-serif typeface that is also written in another language further explaining the uses for this product to customers who speak other languages.
the first thing i notice about this candle is not unique packaging that has been made to resemble a traditional glass sweet jar. this characteristic is effective as it reflects the fact that the scent of this candle smells like a very well known sweet. while also intriguing customers with its originality and possibly attracting the eye of older customers who grew up going to older styled sweet shops. this glass jar also causes this candle to look more valuable encouraging customers to buy this simple product for a higher price than usual. the second focal point of this product is the brand’s logo which stands out very well to the customer through the use of its bright contrasting red colour and yellow font which also contrasts against the dominant light pink colour that features throughout the design of this product. the third section of belonging to the design of this product that my eye is drawn to is the name of the scent of this candle. the type of this text works well as its white colour complements the baby pink colour of the candle while also still contrasting well against this colour. i also believe that the simplicity of this font allows customers to retrieve this information in the shortest amount of time as they are not distracted by any unnecessary artistic features. i have also noticed that this text has been placed in a banner that has been made to be transparent in order to allow the pink colour of the candle to feature in the name of this product as this has allowed the designer to express the fact that this candle is bubble gum flavour without having to give bright bubble gum like colours to the name of this candle which are commonly pink or blue. the ribbon that the name of this candle sits in also expresses a sense of importance. the red righting beneath this banner demands the attention of the customer through its bright red text that informs the customer that this candle is highly fragranced. this red colour exaggerated this statement which I believe causes the customer to believe that this declaration is to be trusted. the jelly bean pattern that has been placed around this pattern looks fun and illustraights these products brands top-selling product which is jelly beans. as well as this i think that these designs have been placed in this white circle as this shape and its white colour resembles the stylings of bubbles that have been blown using bubble gum which helps advertise the bubble gum smell of this candle. i think that this candles old fashioned sweet i jar intreegs the attention of young women and teenagers that have grown up enjoying these sweets.
The main focal point of this soap bar is the script like typeface that informs the customer that this soap bar has been made to smell like grapefruit. i suspect that the designer of this typeface has created it in this handwritten style typeface as to suggest to the customer that this bar of soap has been hand made. the type underneath this that explains to the viewer that this soap has been made using salt as the main ingredient which also possesses a handwritten typeface while being thinner as to not detract any attention away from the main focal point. the design of the crape fruit that has also been given a subtle design around it that consists of curved lines create an elegant look to this soap bar causing this soap bar to look feminine while suggesting that this bar of soap has an elegant smell. beneath this design is a short description of the main ingredients of this soap . after reading this a list of all the ingredients that were used in this soap bar are listed. i believe that these ingredients have been listed of the front of this soap bar as opposed to the back in order to further convince the customer that this product contains natural products while also enabling the viewer to retrieve the most amount of information in the shortest amount of time. the eye is drawn to the small illustration of a woman that is dressed as a bee in a bubble bath I think that this woman has been dressed as a bee to express a sense of fun which suggests to the viewer that this soap makes bath time fun while the frame that this has been placed in has been given a tile like an outline to resemble bathroom tiles. while the text that reads the word “The bodylisiouse bee which explains the image. the name of the website and the text that informs the customer that this soap is hand made using all-natural ingredients is the last section of text read on this soap bar. i think this has been done as this information will be the most prominent in their minds as this is the last section of information that they have read ensuring that tin the customer were to want more products from this company they remember the name of the website while also being fully aware while using this soap that all its ingredients are natural. Here i have designed various typeface designs and styles that i will use to display my company’s name while designing these i insured to use designed that reflected characteristics of bees, and flowers. Doing so by designing typefaces having leaves, flower petals and vines while others resembled bees by looking furry , having stripes , antenna, wings and bees themselves
For my packaging, I will need to provide information about the ingredients belonging to my products allowing the customer to view them so that they can then be made aware that there are no ingredients in this product that they may have an allergy to or have personal issues with a certain ingredient. I will do this by placing this information on the back of my packaging while having the main ingredient listed in a clear typeface on the front of my product. to accompany my lists of ingredients I shall place allergy advice information next to the list of ingredients I will also be required to list the name and brand of this item while also including a brief description of the purposes of this product and how it will benefit the customer. My packaging will tell my customer a brief story about how the beeswax in my product is farmed and reassure them that no abuse came to the bees during the farming process. This story will tell them of this company’s policies and beliefs .my products will be given an expiry date to ensure that my product gives my customers the best results and a bar code will be placed in a visible era enabling a faster check out service.
my research has revealed that these handmade soaps often are presented to the customer with very minimal packaging and hand wrapped packaging and recyclable materials. I will look to recreate these successful design aspects in my final product. This is an image of the candles that i have found on the internet that i thought were successful. most of these candles packaging have been designed revealing the candle its self or has used very little packaging and have only been given labels on its front while others have been placed in boxes and have been designed to look gift-wrapped.my research has shown that most successful had creams use a lot of cartoon illustrations and feminine, soft colours which cause a very fun and interesting designs which cause me to assume that these hand creams possess strong sents and has a product inside that may possess a colour while others use very minimal designs that only include clear colour schemes and type which cause these style hand creams to appear to be for clinical purposes. causing the customer to assume that these products do not possess strong sents or have been given vibrant colours to the creams inside these hand cream tubes. Here I have designed an image of a bee that I have created on illustrator I believe that this image is effective as it resembles filberts bees simplistic cartoon stylings. I have attempted to create this bee to look as though it has hair through my line technique that I have used to texturize the head and kegs of this bee while also using this line technique on the black parts of the body of my bee.
This image I have further developed my design for my logo doing so by experimenting with typeface positioning and incorporating small bits of colour that can be seen in the yellow halo that I have placed behind the head of my bee to represent the sun or perhaps the centre of a flower. I believe that by placing my text underneath the wings of y bee allows the image of the bumblebee to act as the main focal point while still being very visible and still take up a large amount of space while still being intimate within this design. I have placed a thinner typeface that looks similar to my main text that has been used for the name of the brand of this product. I have placed this text in a thin frame to express a sense of importance and I believe that this simple rectangle will attract the attention of my customer before any other imagery has been seen that may take place beneath this design without having to use bright colours of bold fonts.here i have designed four different ways in which i could display my designs doing so by experimenting with different shapes and colours while also placing text in different locations. after experimenting with these designs and placing them side by side i find my eye is drawn to the design that takes place in the top right-hand corner. however i believe that the design that takes place on the top left-hand corner looks more elegant, a characteristic i am attempting to create. after realising this i have decided to replicate a similar style as the design that caught my attention fist that i will combine with the soft yellow colour of the design in the top left corner of this image.
For these designs, I have designed these logos inspired by popular tattoo designs in order to appeal t young adults while also creating a somewhat mature and stylish design. For the design that can be seen taking place on the left-hand side, I have incorporated the dashed lines that can bee seen taking place within the triangle that protrudes from out the top of the bee in this design to address the fact that bee designs are usually accompanied with a dashed line that can be seen trailing behind the bee mapping outwear the bee has been previously flying. I have used this dashed line effect in the form of a triangle to resemble an arrow implying that this bee is flying upwards. While also adding detail and looking s athletically pleasing. I hade designed the text of this design to take place beneath this image in order to ensure that my image of the bee and its arrows act as the main focal point. The design that I hade placed on the right of this design has been given a large hexagon shape that can be seen taking place being framed within the top legs of this bee. While four smaller hexagon shapes can be seen travelling up the page. I have designed these hexagons appearing to be travelling up the page to resemble the way in which bubbles usually behave. While also mimicking the flow of soap bubbles doing so by designing these hexagons growing smaller the further away the shapes get from the image of the bee. I have done this to express that this brand sells beauty products a concept which is well known to include vast amounts of self-cleaning products such as soaps, bath bombs pus many more items. It is because of this that I felt that this design would be ideal to display on my bar of soap which well known to crate soap bubbles while in use. In this design, I have placed the words filberts beeswax taking place between the two legs that that place on both sides of the bee as I felt that this would ensure that this text would be third focal point occulting after the bee and the images of the hexagon shapes I have also incorporated this bubble-like hexagon design around the typeface based logo design which I feel is just as effective.
This is an image of the various flowers that I have designed using illustrator doing so through the use of the pen tool, the paint bucket tool and the opacity tool. I have designed these as I felt that these flowers resemble watercolour paintings of which I felt reflected the fact that filberts cosmetics are well known to use much colourful and elegant imagery on its products packaging.
Here I have begun to incorporate these floral patterns into my design placing them behind my final typeface. featuring behind the letter f of the word filberts and behind the letter x of the word beeswax, I feel that this addition causes my typeface to appear to be more elegant and feminine while also adding many shades of different natural colours in a subtle way. the addition of my overextending bars and eats that can be seen extending from out these letters towards the left creates a subtle artistic look.
Here I have again begun experimenting with the watercolour styled flowers that I had created earlier. Doing so by placing a selection of these flowers behind the head of my bee design which crates a floral halo effect. I have done this to illustrate the fact that the main ingredient in filberts cosmetics is beeswax which is a substance that is derived from honey combe which is made from bees who collect the pollen necessary for the creation of beeswax from pollen that the bees take from flowers. I also believe that the flowers provide a good amount of colour which contrast well against the white and black styling on my bee design. I believe that if I were to give the bee strong colours these two images would not stand out as well and would not be seen as two separate images that are to be studied individually. Causing the viewer to study these two images longer and more thoroughly.
In this image, you will see the design that I intend to place on the lid of my rounded box that I will place my three product in. on this lid I have designed a border of flowers to appear around the outside of the lid of my box. To create a feminine and colourfull design to my box. While also expressing to my customer that the contents within this box have been made using substances derived from flowers while also possessing a sweet sent. I have also placed my chosen logo in the centre of this product I feel that this design works well as all my design aspects are clear and visible. I believe that my designs will intrigue the attention of passing costumers influencing them to approach the box of these products to read the label that sits in the centre of this lid. The white circle that can be seen occurring around the centre circle and within the floral border I have given to the outer edge of this lid will be cut away and replaced with acetate. Which will allow the customer to see the products that lie within this floral pattern box.
These two labels have been designed for my soap bar. i intend on placing the label on the left to on to the front of my soap. I have designed this label having my logo as the main focal point in order to inform the customer of the brand of this product before reading any other information. beneath my logo on the left-hand side of this label, i have placed the name of this product in this position as i felt it caused this text to be visible while its large size allows the text to be seen from a greater distances which is ideal for products that are placed on a shelf as this design choice will allow this product to compete with other products similar to this. i have also placed the name of this company’s main ingredient on the opposite side of this soap bar, mirroring its position, size and typeface to suggest to my customer that beeswax is a vital ingredient to this company. beneath this information, i have placed the text that informs the customer of the sent of this soap bar. i have chosen to use this serif typeface as this text create a formal look that i felt caused this soap bar to look professional and of a good quaily. i have also designed this text in this golden orange colour to reflect the colour of honey and beeswax. as well as this i have included a smaller text that informs the customer that this product is a hundred per cent natural and is made by hand here in the UK with top-quality ingredients. i have designed this text having this small size to ensure that this small text does not detract attention from other the previous focal points, while its black colour causes this text to be seen before the text below. which shows the words 100% pure beeswax that i have included to reassure customers that this product is natural and contains no harsh, artificial chemicals. for these labels, i have created a colour scheme that is dominantly orange and black with very minimal traces of other colours that take place in the logo. The label that can be seen taking place on the left-hand side of this image has been designed having its company name as the main focal point to ensure that customers are made aware of the brand of this soap bar whether this product has been placed on its back or front. beneath this title, i have placed the text that says natural products which i have placed within a rectangle which i have incorporated to frame this text in hopes this would attract more attention while exaggerating its meaning as i felt this box helped express the importance of this text. I have placed the ingredients of this soap in the centre section of my label to indicate to my customer this section of information holds vital information while it golden colour has been given to this typeface to resemble the colour of honey, effectively suggest to my customer that this information tells of the ingredients that have been used in this product that include honey products. after the ingredients have been read i then guide there eye down this label to the bottom of this shape to read a text that reassures my customer that this product is naturally derived from plant oils and honeycomb. this text has been designed in the colour black to create a strong contrast in colours while its capital letters have been used to help convey the truth in this statement. at the very bottom of this label, i have listed the name of the website belonging to this company to allow customers to research more about this company’s products and policies. i have finished this label by adding some floral patterns that i had made earlier. i have placed these flower designs on either side of this label, framing the information while adding an aesthetic appeal that also looks rather feminine and also illustrates the fact that this product is made using plant oils. Here i have designed three labels that will take place on my candle, having the smallest circle that displays an image of a large bee on its front that will be displayed within the smallest ring on the lid of my candle. i have designed this label having the bee logo design at this large size to capture the attention of my viewer and to create a larger impact on my customers. once i have captured the attention of my customer through the use of my logo i then draw their attention to the text that informs the customer of the sent of this candle which i have labelled to be blossom and honey I have used this serif typeface as to create a somewhat formal design to suggest that this product is of a high quality while designing this text in capitals in order to express importance and also using the colour black to create a strong amount of contrast to make this text stands out to my customer, ensuring that they are aware of this candles sent before reading the text i have placed below, The typeface that i have placed underneath the sent of this candle tells the customer that the main ingredient of this candle is beeswax. i have given this typeface this golden colour to reflect the colour of honeycomb, which beeswax is taken from. while the use of all capital letters implies that this ingredient is important to the filberts company. Framing the text that shows the scent of this candle and its main ingredient is two flower designs which i have incorporated to illustrate the fact that this soap has been made using vast amounts of product that have been extracted from flowers while the orange colour of these flowers again reflects the yellow and orange colours belonging to honey and beeswax. the main focal point for the second circle that can be seen in the right-hand corner of this image is the text at the top of the sticker that tells the customer of the sent of this candle which is blossom and honey. i have made this my main focal point for this label to add context to the names of the ingredients listed below. while making sure that the customer is fully aware of the smell of this candle. just under this information, i have placed a text that says natural beeswax candle which i have designed taking place just underneath the main focal point to suggest that this information is just as important as the text above. underneath this golden text are the words made with 100% beeswax. this has been given to this label of this candle to further convince that the customer is made aware that the wax of this candle is in fact beeswax. if you will also acknowledge the fact that i have placed the list of ingredients in the middle of this sticker. which i had done as i felt that having it in this location allowed t to be fully visible while its small size allowed this information to be seen after the previous focal points while ist black colour creates a strong amount of contrast still drawing a healthy amount of attention to this list. i have given this label a caution sign in order to suggest that this product should be used with caution and i felt that by adding this symbol would influence my customer to read the contents of the warning label more thoroughly than if this symbol were not there. i have added my floral patten that i have used to frame the bar code to add athletic appeal while also drawing attention to the bar code because i have placed the words can cause firs on the top of this bar code as its white background caused this text to stand out and i feel that i have also used the space this bar code takes up to my advantage. the rectangular label beneath these labels has been designed to be later displayed on the front of my candles glass jar. The name of my chosen company and their main ingredient has been made to act as the main focal point which i have made possible by placing it at the very top of this label in a large black font that makes it very visible and the contrast in the black colour enhances its visibility. the second main focal point of this label is the brand’s logo that i have designed. this was done to ensure that the viewer is made aware of the brand of this company before reading any other information i have placed this logo betwixt two flower designs that i has made earlier to add esthetic appeal while also further suggesting to my customer that this candle is made from natural substances and also possesses a floral scent. after my customer has studied these images i then call their attention to read the small black text that i have placed beneath these focal points which describe this candle as being made from a hundred per cent natural ingredients, using beeswax and also contains almond oil and raw honey that has been given to create the scent of this candle. These two labels have been designed to later be displayed on the front and back of my hand cream bottle. if you will acknowledge the fact that i have designed the name of my company and the name of their main ingredient to act as the main focal point. i have done this as i believe that this design choice tells the customer of the name of this products company in an assertive manner. i have designed the logo i had earlier designed to act as my second focal point as i felt that by presenting my viewer with this image after having read the name of this product helped express the fact that this design is, in fact, the logo of this company for first-time buyers. while also causing this label to look decorative. the size of this logo also helps this image express the fact that this product has been made from products foraged from bees and flowers. i have placed the information that tells the customer of the sent of this product and its purpose just beneath this logo in this capital letter, serif font as i felt that it’s capital letter font expresses a matter of importance while the somewhat formal font creates a mature look. Beneath this information, i have placed a small amount of information about the guarantees this company makes about there products, promising this hand cream to be a hundred present made from natural ingredients. while its golden colour reflects the colour of honey. – the final piece of information i have added to this label is another guarantee that states that this product has been made using a hundred per cent pure beeswax that i have included to further reassure my customer that this hand cream possesses no harsh or artificial ingredients. the second label in this image has been designed to take place of the back of my hand cream bottle. i believe this design to be effective firstly because of the way in which i have designed my main focal point in the form of this products brands name and main ingredient as it is essential that customers are made aware of the name of this company. and its selling point. The second focal point of this label is the text that i have placed within a rectangle that states the benefits of using this hand cream This is my second area of focus as i felt that this statement was vital in order to attract the attention of this company’s target audience. the orange, gold-coloured text beneath the statement tells the customer of the benefits of using this product i have added this description in order to further pursued my customer to purchase this product for its benefits. just beneath this text, i have included a short explanation of how this product is used to tell the customer the proper way that this hand cream is used. i have designed this text having this slanted, cursive stylings as i believed that this typeface created a more personalised look. i have used this same typeface to list the ingredients used. while designing this label i also thought it was important to add the name of the website to this label in case the customer felt the need to research this company to find out more. at the very bottom of my label, i have placed the bar code as this position allowed the most visibility. the floral design given to this label have been added to subtly frame tis information while explaining that this hand cream is scented.here i have further experimented with bee designs in order to create a design that possessed more detail and a personal look. having drawn this image i decided that this drawing possessed to much detail and may have caused. my overall design to look too busy.in this image you will see the result of my attempts to give more detail to my bee design that i had created earlier on illustrator, doing so buy incorporating line work that has been used to create the elution that this bee is hairy without overpowering the image with too many markings. having finished this image i came to the conclusion that this design does not create a good impact on its viewer . while the original design does.after realising that i disliked both drawing of bees that i has previously drawn i decided to design another one. this decision resulted in this image that i had designed using fine liners and shading pens. i am pleased with this outcome as I believe it to be very detailed and i feel that i have effectively translated the fact that bumblebees are rather hairy through my mark makings and shading. i will look to experiment using this design on the labels for my products.
I believe that the incorporation of my chosen, hand-rendered bumble bee design has added a lot of detail and creates a very strong contrast in colour with the white backgrounds i have given to my labels. i also believe that these images of my drawn design resemble the styling of the filberts company which my research had shown that this company uses many quirky and detailed illustrations that appear to have been hand-drawn. even though i am rather fond of these labels that have been made having my hand-rendered drawing as the main focal points i do not feel that the overall designs of these labels look as professional or athletically pleasing as the labels that i had earlier made using a bee design that i had created using illustrator. i also believe that the bee i had earlier made complements the flowers that i had designed using illustrator as this bee design does not possess to much detail that it causes the overall look of my labels to look overcrowded with imagery. therefore i have decided to not take these labels further and instead design more labels having the bee design i had made on illustrator as the main focal points of these labels.
I have chosen to use his image as my logo to represents the filberts company. i have come to this decision as i feel that i have well expressed the fact that this company main ingredient is beeswax. which i feel i have translated to the customer through the image of the honey bee that acts as the main focal point of this logo as i felt that by doing this i had effectively glorified this insect in order to remind customers that beeswax is in fact created by this small creature. while the halo of flowers have been included to illustrates t the fact that beeswax is a substance derived from honey combe which is created using pollen taken from flowers. these flowers also provide a lot of colour to this logo whole also drawing attention to the head of this bee wear a large amount of detail can be seen taking place.I have chosen this colour scheme as i felt that this well-illustrated the fact that filberts cosmetics are made using honey products that are foraged from bees. while the light, pale orange, yellow colour of the white space resembles the colour of honey and the colour of de-shelled almonds. i have also added a bar code to the label that will be displayed on the back of my soap bar. i ave placed it at the bottom of this label as this bar code is not an important part of this label as it does not help advertise this soap but this position did cause this bar code to be very visible.
i have given these labels this light purple colour to reflect the colour of blossom flowers while also creating a feminine look.i have designed this hand creams labels in this orange colour to illustrates the fact that this product is tangerine and honey as this colour resembles the colour of both of these ingredients. After some consideration, i have decided to design my labels all sharing the same sent of honey and almond. after i had come to this conclusion I then designed these labels all sharing one colour.this is an image if the labels i intend on placing on the front and back of my beauty set box. i have used my logo as the main focal point for my front label that can be seen on the left of this image as i felt that this would create a lasting impression on my customer due to its aesthetically pleasing design. while also symbolising to my customer that this product is intrinsically linked to the concept of bees and flowers. have placed the name of the company and the name of the main ingredient at the top of this label as i felt that this positioning suggested that this information is of high priority. I have also placed two floral designs mirroring each other on the edges of this label to add detail and to express that this product is sweetly scented as flowers are. at the bottom of this label, i have placed the name of my company in large letters to express that this information is important while placing a smaller text beneath it that tells the customer that this company is run by beekeepers and are makers of beeswax products. On the very bottom of this label, i have placed a text that ensures my customer that this product is a hundred per cent natural. The second label in this image has been used to list the products that are in this box. while also promising to have a hundred per cent pure beeswax. beneath this information, i have listed three company guarantees. after the customer has read these guarantees I then attract their attention with the small symbols that i have included to ensure that my customer is aware that the products within this box are not tested on animals, expire after twelve months is dermatology tested and recyclable.
This is an image of the final outcome of my candle. i believe that my finished product is successful and looks professional i have this opinion because i feel that my cutting technique has proven to be effective and precise feel that the shaped and positioning has complemented the shape of this candle pot. i think that i have done this by taking advantage of the spaces provided for example i have created a label for the lid of my candle pot as i saw this lid as an opportunity to further advertise this product is a more elegant way as this lid allowed me to distribute the amount of information i was attempting to present my customer without having to place all this information on two labels which i suspect would have resulted in a very cramped designs and unprofessional amounts of information taking place on my labels. I have designed the label on the front of my candle being in this small rectangle shape in order to enable the customer to see the contents within this candle pot as I felt that having the candle its self exposed would further advertise this product to my customer. an effect i don’t believe would be possible if i had chosen to design a label that was to travel around the whole outside of this candle pot. i have also placed the label that list of ingredients and safety warnings on the base of this candle due to the fact that customers are well known to only read this information after picking up products and it is because of this that i felt that placing this label on the bottom of my candle pot was ideal as this information is not necessary for arrowing the attention of the customer and would only be viewed after the customer had picked this product up and had finished studying the main label and began searching for the list of ingredients which is most commonly found on the base of these stye candle pots. This is an image of the finished product of my soap bar for this finished look i had wrapped my soap bar in two layers of tissue paper after having done this I then glued my labels to the front and back of my soap. I have chosen to wrap my soap bar in tissue paper as i felt that this design choice created a more personal, hand made look that further expressed the fact that the soap bar that i am advertising has been handcrafted. i feel that my labels work well and complement the colour of tissue paper that i have used. i feel that the information given to my labels are clear and attention-grabbing while my logo for my brand effectively draws in the attention of my audience i also believe that this finished look will fit well in the beauty product box that i intend to later place this item in along with my other products. This is an image of my final hand cream product. i believe this to be a success as i feel that my designs stand out and i feel that the white colour of my bee complements the white colour of my hand cream bottle while the honey-like colour of my label stands out against this colour. i feel that my logo is eye-catching and attract the attention of my audiences from a distance. and i also feel that my labels are neat and precisely cut and have also been glued on to my hand cream bottle in the right position.
Here i have placed my packaging label on the front of my cylinder packaging that will hold my three beauty products. i have designed this label being this shape as i felt that this rectangle shape worked well with the rounded edges of this cylinder packaging as it appears to travel around the front box seamlessly. a characteristic that i believe would not be made possible if i had used any other shape l. Another reason i believe that the label i have placed on to this packaging to be successful is due to the pink colour of my label as from my perspective this pale pink colour complements to light sandy brown colour of this box. This is an image of the back of my beauty box. i have mirrored the style and position of the label that takes place on the front of my box as i felt that this design and positioning was successful. i have also chosen to place this label on the side of my box as i felt that this would be more visible and would allow the customer to retrieve this information in a short amount of time. After having placed my labels on the exterior of my packaging i then filled the inside of my cylinder packaging with a light blush orange colour tissue paper which i had added to create a more luxurious and professional look to my packaging. the colour of this tissue paper also complimented the colour scheme i had given to my three products. i had also used this same tissue paper to wrap my bar of soap. after having done this i then placed my three products in my packaging which resulted in a very professional look. This is an image of the top of my cylinder-shaped beauty set packaging. to achieve this look i first cut a hole away from the centre of my boxes lid which i later replaced with a thin sheet of acetate. i had done in order to make my three beauty products visible to the customer using these products themselves to help advertise this beauty set and to ensure that the customer is fully aware of the contents within this box. i have given this floral bored to the lid of my packaging in order to frame the visible products within this box. i feel that this has proven to be a successful design choice as this design looks feminine while the floral pattern illustrates the fact that these products main ingredients have been derived from plants while also providing a lot of colour and decoration to this once boring lid. i also believe that this floral border helps frame the transparent section of this lid that reveals the three beauty products. i have placed the items in this packaging facing upwards in order to make their individual designs and information visible.
For this assignment, I had chosen to re-design a logo for the cosmetic company called filberts. After having chosen this company I then began to research this company’s products and their packaging. This research revealed that this company uses many bright, quirky, hand-drawn illustrations that resemble drawings often found in older books such as the Rahul dal books due to its thin and irregular, childlike drawing style That the majority of people have grown up reading. This company also uses many pictures of natural subjects that are mostly based around insects and plants. As well as this These products almost always showed imagery of bees on them in order to express that this company’s products main ingredient has been foraged from bees while using imagery of flowers to explain to the customer that these products are scented and its ingredients are mostly plant-based and natural and also creates a very feminine look. Filberts products also possessed light natural colour schemes that had been given to the packaging of its product in order to express the colour of the main ingredients. that have been used to create the sent belonging to its products. After finishing my extensive research, I then came to the conclusion that this company’s target audience was young professional women with a disposable income. I believe that my final designs have proven to be successful as I feel that I have reflected the original styling of filberts cosmetic company doing so by incorporating feminine and quirky cartoon-like illustrations that can be seen taking place in the design of my logo that shows an image of a bee that has a small halo of flowers framing the head. I have chosen to use an image of a bee what has its face surrounded by flowers in order to express the way in which the beeswax used in these products have been foraged from bees that they create by using the pollen and nectar that these insects extract from the centre of flowers. While making this image I attempted to include the same makings that takes place in the bee design belonging to the original filberts logo as this designee shows that the bee in this logo possesses hair through the use of its line markings that can be seen taking place in the orange sections of its body. While designing the image of my bee I sought to create a pretty and cartoon-like design that was also very stylish and modern doing so by taking inspiration from very sought after bee tattoo designs as I felt that this characteristic would attract the attention of young adults who are very passionate about nature and are very artistic and creatively minded. For my products, I had chosen to use a bright colour scheme that is predominantly black, white and orange as these colours also belong to bumblebees while the orange colour also reflects the golden colour of honey which is often used in this company’s products and the beeswax that this company uses in all its products is extracted from the structure that honeycomb is made from. While designing this beauty set I had come to the decision to use the car bored cylinder that I have placed my beauty products in as i felt that this material helps to advertise the fact that these beauty products have been created using a hundred per cent natural materials. doing so through its natural brown colour and eco-friendly material that is also a hundred per cent recyclable. I have chosen to use this cardboard cylinder because I thought that the shape of this box was unique and differed from usual beauty set boxes that are more commonly square or rectangular.
